Objectives of these roles

Reporting to the Technology Team Lead, successful candidates will support client projects and internal product development. The Full Stack Developer focuses on both user-friendly front-end design and robust back-end APIs, while the Front-End Developer delivers elegant, accessible interfaces with strong proficiency in core web technologies.

Talent Pool Contract Model

We are building our Curio talent pool in Southeast Asia for contract opportunities. These are not guaranteed full-time roles. Instead, we offer contract opportunities on a short-term or long-term basis to both full stack developers and front end developers as needs arise. Suitable candidates will be taken through our recruitment process and, when the right opportunity emerges in coming weeks and months, we can engage and onboard talent efficiently.

Key responsibilities and duties (for both roles)

Shared responsibilities and duties

• Self-manage day to day workload, coordinate with the broader team
• Stay current with the latest thinking and technologies in web development
• Ensure clear and systematic documentation
• Provide customer support as required
• Contribute to user acceptance testing (UAT)
• Participate in all relevant team activities and ceremonies
• Contribute to continuous team development and improvement

Specific to Front-End Developer

• Develop and maintain responsive web pages and interactive user interfaces
• Address front-end related customer support and UAT

Specific to Full Stack Developer

• Code front-end interfaces and interactions as well as build scalable back-end APIs
• Handle end-to-end application functionality and integration

Skills and Qualifications

Shared requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a developer in digital products
• Experience working in a lean agile development environment
• Strong understanding of mobile-first and responsive web design
• Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git
• Demonstrated application of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
• Experience building inclusive user interfaces and addressing accessibility
• Ability to test, remediate, and document accessibility issues, preferably using appropriate tools
• Excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams

Specific requirements for Full Stack Developer

• Knowledge of object-oriented PHP and PHP frameworks such as Laravel/Symfony
• Strong experience with JavaScript and frameworks (e.g., ReactJS)
• Experience designing and integrating APIs
• Creating database schemas and working with SQL databases and their query languages
• Understanding user authentication and authorization across multiple environments

Specific requirements for Front-End Developer

• Strong proficiency in plain JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Canvas or Moodle
• Ability to work in plain JavaScript without the use of a framework, as well as having experience with JQuery. Experience with ReactJS would also be beneficial.
• Familiarity with front-end authentication and security best practices
